Homeless Veterans Stand Down
B-COS We Care for our military neighbors ……..
In 2024, we participated in a Stand Down for housing insecure Veterans in our Pikes Peak area. Our mission statement states that we are an all volunteer organization dedicated to improving the well-being of El Paso County residents. There are an estimated 90,000 Veterans who live in Colorado Springs and our homeless Veterans are a part of that population. We recognized that we could partner with Mount Carmel Veterans Service Center, the chief organizer of Stand Down, and join with other nonprofits to contribute to the Stand Down and serve those who served US. Last Fall, 103 solar chargers were delivered to former military ID card holders who participated in the event. Why solar chargers? Our homeless need a charger for cell phone usage and Colorado is a great place to use solar. We will again participate in October 2025.
